Airpura builds the F400 DLX for "Formaldehyde and wider range of VOCs released from common household products, construction materials and pesticides". That covers the smell from new building materials and the products you clean and finish with.
12 lb of an enhanced blend (potassium permanganate and coconut shell) in a 2.25 inch bed. The blend is rated by Airpura to remove 99% of formaldehyde (KC Laboratories, 2015). That is a lab rating, not ours, and not a promise for your home. No carbon filter removes every chemical.
Airpura sizes it for rooms up to 1,000 sq ft, with two full air changes an hour at 8 ft ceilings. A HEPA Barrier after the carbon catches dust.
15.5 inches high and 12 inches wide, powder coated steel, 3 speed fan, no casters. 110 to 120 volts. It makes no ozone.
Change the carbon every 2 years, the HEPA Barrier every year and the pre-filter every 12 months. Power cost is about $0.27 a day on medium, day and night. For home use, it is backed by Airpura's 5 year parts and labor warranty, then labor only up to year 10.
