A smell that has become the smell of the house is a gas, and a particle filter lets a gas through. The R700 carries 18 lb of activated carbon made from coconut shell, in a 2 inch bed. It adsorbs airborne chemicals and everyday pollutants, and odors are among what it removes. Carbon holds a smell rather than covering it. It will not take out every trace, and a source that never stops fills the carbon sooner.
This model is built for a peaceful night. It measures 29 dB on low at 6 feet and 63 dB on high, so low is the night setting and high is loud.
Airpura rates the R700 for up to 2,500 sq ft at 2 air changes an hour with 8 ft ceilings. The fan moves 635 cubic feet of air a minute with no filters in and 450 with them in, which suits an open plan floor where the kitchen, living room and the dog all share the air.
Change the carbon filter every 24 months, the HEPA filter every 3 years (range 3 to 5 years), and the pre-filter every 12 months. Power costs about $0.27 a day on medium, running day and night.
Powder coated steel with felt gaskets, not rubber. The all metal housing ensures no plastic vapors are emitted, and it makes no ozone. It is 23 in high, 15 in wide, on casters. It is not on California's CARB certified list, so we do not ship it to California.
For home use Airpura covers parts and labor for 5 years, then labor only up to year 10. Filters are not covered.

- Arrived damaged? Accept the delivery, note the damage on the carrier's receipt, and email us within 48 hours with photos. We arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.
Start your return within 30 days of delivery. The unit must be in the same condition you got it: clean, undamaged, with the box, foam pieces and manuals. It goes back to Airpura's warehouse at 156 Lawrence Paquette Industrial Dr, Champlain, NY 12919, and you pay the return shipping. A 25 percent restocking fee comes off the refund. A unit used to filter heavy chemical fumes, or during a renovation, is inspected when it arrives, and the restocking fee depends on the damage found. Refunds go back to the original payment method, the same card or account you paid with.
