Check the label on your Austin Air. Standard size units start with HM4, Junior units start with HM2, and the Austin it is the small personal unit. This filter is for a standard size unit.
Austin Air HealthMate Plus. This filter is designed for all standard Austin Air purifiers. Any standard purifier made in 1996 or later can take the Allergy Machine, HealthMate, HealthMate Plus or Bedroom Machine filter. A purifier made before 1996 can only take the Allergy Machine filter.
FR450A is the black filter and FR450B is the white one. They are different parts. White filter for White and Sandstone units. Black filter for Black and Midnight Blue units.

This filter is designed to last up to 5 years under normal home use. A room with heavy smoke, sawdust, chemical vapors or strong odors will use it up sooner. Change it when the air coming out starts to smell, or the airflow drops a lot.
Austin Air builds this blend for chemicals, wildfire smoke and strong odors, and it targets VOCs, formaldehyde, benzenes, gases and odors.

Ships from Austin Air in Buffalo, NY, by UPS or FedEx. Processed the same or next business day (1 pm Eastern cutoff, Monday to Friday), then 1 to 3 business days in transit east of the Mississippi River or 3 to 5 west of it. Most orders arrive in 1 to 4 business days in the East and 3 to 6 in the West.
- Free standard ground shipping to the 48 contiguous states, no minimum order.
- Ships directly from the maker. Delivery time depends on the brand, see the line above.
- We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, PO boxes or APO and FPO addresses.
- Models not certified by the California Air Resources Board cannot ship to California. Checkout will not offer California delivery for them.
- No customs or duty charges on delivery. The price at checkout is the full price.
- Your card is authorized at order and charged only when we accept the order and put it into fulfillment.
- We email you the tracking number as soon as the maker sends it to us.
- Arrived damaged? Accept the delivery, note the damage on the carrier's receipt, and email us within 48 hours with photos. We arrange a replacement or repair at no cost to you.
Return only if unopened, within 30 days of delivery, with a flat $25 restocking fee. Cancel free of charge any time before it ships; once shipped, it is a return. Refunds are issued 3 to 5 business days after the return reaches the Austin Air return facility.
The brand rule above comes first for this item. Where a return is allowed, our store terms also apply:
- Our standard window is 30 days from delivery, unused and in like new condition, in the original packaging with everything included. A shorter or stricter brand rule above wins.
- Email sales@purifierhaven.com for a Return Authorization number first. Returns without one are refused.
- Change of mind returns: flat $25 restocking fee, you pay return shipping.
- Wrong, damaged or defective item: replaced free, and we pay all shipping both ways. If you choose a refund instead of a replacement, you pay return shipping and the flat $25 restocking fee.
