Yes. This model has two main filter stages: a Super HEPA filter for fine airborne particles, and a 5 inch deep bed of activated carbon, 26 to 28 lb, for chemicals and odors. A tar-trapping pre-filter sits in front to catch sticky tar particles and keep the main filters from clogging.
It carries the largest activated carbon bed available in a residential-style air cleaner, with a carbon surface area of 3,375 acres. Vog, or volcanic smog, is the haze that forms when sulfur dioxide and other pollutants from an active volcano react with oxygen, moisture, dust and sunlight. The bed is filled with a special carbon blend AllerAir mixes to better attract and trap the chemicals and odors associated with vog. This model carries no sulfur dioxide rating. No carbon filter takes out every chemical.
This vog unit is built for continuous 24/7 use: keep it running 24/7 on the lowest setting. There are no digital parts to set: plug it in and turn one variable speed dial. AllerAir rates it 39 to 65 dB.
It also filters the everyday chemicals, gases, odors and particles found indoors, and is ideal to use even when vog forecasts are low.
20.5 in high and 15 in across, 46 lb in use, on four 2 inch wheels, with an 8 ft cord. AllerAir sizes its Pro 5 line for rooms up to 1,500 sq ft. A version with a UV lamp is also offered.
The pre-filter comes out of the bottom in seconds with no tools. The carbon and Super HEPA come out of the bottom with screws. AllerAir advises changing the pre-filter and HEPA when dust builds up on them, and the carbon when you notice an odor from the unit.

Return within 30 days with a 25 percent restocking fee. The return must be shipped insured for full value to AllerAir in St-Laurent, Quebec, Canada.
- 30 days from the delivery date to start a return. The unit must be like new, in its original packaging, with everything included.
- Email sales@purifierhaven.com for a Return Authorization number first. Returns without one are refused.
- Change of mind returns: 25 percent restocking fee, you pay return shipping.
- Wrong, damaged or defective item: we pay all shipping both ways and no restocking fee applies.
- Refund to the original payment method within 5 business days of inspection.
