allerair-airmedic-pro-5-hd
AllerAir AirMedic Pro 5 HD Air Purifier, Ambient Pollution and VOCs, Up to 23 lb Carbon

Will it help with air from a busy road?

The Pro 5 HD is built for homes in more polluted environments, and is ideal for VOCs and ambient pollution, the air that drifts in from outside. It uses a pre-filter, a carbon bed and a Super HEPA filter. The carbon bed is the part for smells, fumes and gases. The Super HEPA filter is the part for fine particles, rated by AllerAir at 99.99 percent of airborne particles at 0.1 microns. That is a filter rating, not a result measured in your room.

How much carbon is inside?

19 to 22 lb with the Exec blend, or 21 to 23 lb with the Vocarb blend, in a 3.5 inch deep bed with 3,000 acres of carbon surface. The deeper bed gives the air more dwell time, so more of what passes through gets trapped.

Exec or Vocarb?

Choose Exec for standard air cleaning, and Vocarb for higher pollution levels, VOCs, chemicals, fumes and odors. For a home that takes in outside pollution all day, that points to Vocarb. You can also swap in different filters later if your needs change.

What we do not claim

This model is not rated for nitrogen dioxide or carbon monoxide. No carbon filter removes every chemical.

How loud, how big, how heavy?

39 to 62 dB across a variable speed, so low is the setting for a bedroom and high is noticeable. The Pro 5 line is rated by AllerAir for rooms up to 1,500 sq ft, and this model moves 400 CFM. It stands 20.5 in high and 15 in across, weighs 42 lb in use, and rolls on four 2 inch wheels with an 8 ft cord.

How often do the filters change?

Replace the filters when you notice dust build up or odor, as AllerAir advises.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0838/1471/1551/files/allerair-airmedic-pro-5-hd-white-front.png?v=1790541177
